No Dumping • Drains to Lake

Members of Scout troops 127 & 7127 spent part of a beautiful, dry day in October 2025 placing storm drain markers in Madison Northside neighborhoods. Each marker reads "No Dumping, Drains to Lake." This is scout Zaida’s Eagle Scout project, after many months of planning.

Dumping pollutants, fertilizers, aquarium species, and other junk in our storm sewers leads to scummy waters and invasive species. Thanks to Dane County Extension for providing the markers and to City of Madison Engineering for providing the maps of drain locations. Friends of Cherokee Marsh served as an advisor for the project.
