New pollinator garden installed by Scouts

Updated: Aug 31

Scout Cynthia has been working steadily since February on her Eagle Scout project, with sponsorship and guidance from the Friends of Cherokee Marsh.

She has now completed her project of planting a native plant pollinator garden, with the help of many Scout volunteers.

Friends of Cherokee Marsh served as advisor and funded the purchase of plants. Madison Parks staff removed the sod. Thanks to our FOCM members and donors. Your contributions made our funding of this project possible.

The new garden is in the Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park South Unit at the corner of Wheeler Rd and Comanche Way, adjacent to the existing plantings by the neighborhood sign.

Cherokee Park neighbors will assume the ongoing maintenance of the garden.
