About the event

Volunteer workdays, brush cutting or brush pile burning.

If there is snow cover, we'll likely burn piles of brush we cut last winter. No experience needed. Dress for the weather. Wear old clothes, natural fibers (cotton, wool) are best because synthetics can melt. Wear closed-toed footwear and work gloves or borrow gloves from us. Bring drinking water

For brush burning, meet at Westport Meadows Park, 4338 Beilfuss Drive. Park on street. This park is west of HWY 113 and adjacent to Cherokee Marsh - Mendota Unit.

On days without snow cover, we'll likely cut invasive brush using hand loppers to make room for native wildflowers, grasses, trees, and shrubs. No experience needed. Loppers and gloves provided, bring your own if you wish. Dress for the weather. Wear closed-toed footwear. Bring drinking water.

For brush cutting, meet at Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park - South Unit, 5002 School Rd, the small parking…
