About the event

Fall Colors: Join a Wisconsin Master Naturalist, John Newman, to learn about and enjoy changing autumn foliage at Cherokee Marsh. We will explore easy nature trails.


Bird & Nature Adventures are free, volunteer-led, rain-or-shine events for all ages to learn about nature. No registration is required; all are welcome. Participants are asked to dress appropriately for the weather and the outing. Binoculars and cameras are welcome. Pets are not allowed in the conservation park. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.


Mostly level. Mown grass paths, gravel trails, and metal boardwalks.


These free, all-ages walks take place the first Sunday of EVERY month, year-round, ALWAYS 1:30 pm – 3 pm.

Cherokee Marsh is the largest wetland in Dane County, Wisconsin. The marsh is located just upstream from Lake Mendota, along the Yahara River and Token Creek.
