About the event

Celebrate Earth Day with your neighbors and friends by volunteering to clean up a local park. Madison Parks is seeking volunteers to assist with trash pickup, raking, weeding, and removing sticks. Gloves, garbage bags, etc. are provided. Cherokee Park (neighborhood park) and Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park's South and North Units are among the sites to choose from. 


How to Participate


Pick a Park: Visit the Earth Day Challenge registration page. Review the list of participating parks to determine which park needs volunteers. If you do not see your park of interest, please contact parksvolunteer@cityofmadison.com.


Register in Advance: All ages are welcome to participate. Advanced registration is required for anyone aged 14 years or older. Register online or by calling 608-266-4711.


Pick Up Supplies: Look for the Earth Day Challenge sign in the designated park. No Parks staff is onsite during the event, but volunteer coordinators may be.
