Discover nature with a free and family-friendly Bird & Nature Adventure! Learn from naturalist Alex Singer about habitat edges, or ecotones, such as the borders between marshes and woodlands. These transitions between habitats contribute to biodiversity.  Bird & Nature Adventures are volunteer-led events held at Cherokee Marsh and other Madison parks year-round throughout the city. Cherokee Marsh is the largest wetland in Dane County, Wisconsin. The marsh is located just upstream from Lake Mendota, along the Yahara River and Token Creek.
